At the heart of Tataria’s rule stands a mysterious and powerful body known as the High Circle Council—a conclave of nine elders, warriors, oracles, and war-scientists chosen through ancient rites, blood oaths, and metaphysical resonance with the planet’s living core.
They do not govern armies.
They do not lead cities.
They define the destiny of the throne itself.
They are the voice behind the Autarch, the interpreters of the Flame, and the final judges in matters of succession, rebellion, treason, and war doctrine.
The Council interprets signs from the Living Flame—Tataria’s sacred energy well that exists beneath the capital. Said to be the breath of the first god-machine, the Flame reacts only to truth, will, and bloodline. All decisions regarding royal succession, betrayal, or the rise of new sovereign powers must pass through the Flame’s judgment.
While the Autarch holds absolute and unquestioned authority to declare intergalactic war, it is the duty of the High Circle to interpret divine omens, ancestral law, and Flame signs that arise before or during conflict.
Though they cannot prevent war, their role is critical in:
Defining ethical parameters (when the Autarch chooses to heed them)
Advising which branches of the Tatarian military—Vanguard, Guardians, or Legion Elites—are most cosmically aligned for deployment
Determining if a new specialized force must be conjured or resurrected
Monitoring planetary ley lines and psychic disturbances to predict spiritual backlash from mass extermination events
Their counsel is respected but not binding. Should the Autarch choose to override their warnings, the consequences fall solely on the throne.
As is written in the Codex Pyra:
“The Flame bows only to One. All others are smoke.”
All high-ranking military leaders, including Major Vexok, Prince Tyr’uz, and General Ja’kata, must swear the Oath of Command before the Circle. If the Flame rejects the oath, the candidate is either disqualified—or destroyed.
The Council maintains the Memory Vaults, a living archive of all Tatarian history, ancestral betrayals, sacred wars, and forbidden technologies. Only Circle members can unlock certain Vaults—and only during sanctioned moments of divine necessity.
The High Circle ensures that the power triangle between the Vanguard, Guardians, and Legion Elites does not spiral into civil war. They mediate when egos clash, when trust dissolves, and when ambition poisons the throne. But if balance cannot be preserved… They burn the imbalance away.
“Before the Flame, I am nothing but will.
Let it scorch my lie. Let it crown my truth.
And if I am false—let me burn, and never rise again.”
