The Vanguards
“We are the silence before the screams.”
The Vanguards
“We are the silence before the screams.”
The Vanguard are the spearhead of Tataria’s military might. Forged in the crucible of interstellar war, they are the first deployed into any conflict zone, from planetary invasions to covert strike missions on enemy worlds. Known as “The Ghost Blades”, their presence is often only realized once the battle is already lost.
What sets the Vanguard apart is not just their elite training, but the state-of-the-art technology fused into their combat doctrine:
Cloaking Technology – “Phase Veil”: Developed in the deep black labs of Tataria’s moons, this cloaking system renders Vanguard soldiers completely invisible to the naked eye, scanners, and even advanced infrared and thermal detection systems. They emit zero heat signatures, allowing them to infiltrate even the most fortified enemy compounds without detection.
Regenerative Armor – “Varnyx Plate”: A marvel of bio-synthetic engineering, each suit is woven with nano-regenerative fibers that can seal bullet wounds and rebuild structural damage in real-time. This armor can withstand high-caliber rounds, plasma burns, and even brief exposure to vacuum, making the Vanguard nearly unstoppable on the battlefield.
Tactical Mindware: Each member is surgically implanted with BattleNet neural links, connecting them to a high-speed strategic interface that calculates real-time battlefield conditions, enemy positions, and optimal kill zones. Their Battle IQ is unmatched, making even a small Vanguard squad a lethal threat to larger forces.
The Guardians
“The Autarch does not kneel. And neither do we.”
The Guardians are Tataria’s final line of defense, trained and bred to protect not just the Autarch, but the very idea of Tatarian supremacy. They are ceremonial in appearance, but in combat, they are walking death machines, a fusion of brutal tradition and hyper-advanced military science. Their loyalty lies with Prince Tyr’uz, the Autarch’s own blood son, who commands them with a warrior’s pride and battlefield grace.
The Guardians are chosen not just from soldiers, but from bloodlines genetically bred for loyalty, strength, and honor. Each Guardian undergoes the Eclipse Rite, bonding their life force to the throne’s psionic core. They are trained within the Ivory Bastion, a massive fortress-temple within the Capital, where ancient martial arts meet modern tactical warfare. Their combat style emphasizes defensive interception, rapid pressure counters, and formation-based fighting.
The Guardian’s cloak only activates upon threat detection, creating a shimmering displacement field that bends incoming fire around the wearer. It is semi-visible, but completely silent, meant to awe and protect.
Iconic to Guardian identity, these tall weapons double as shock lances and plasma-edged blades, capable of cutting through armor and disabling vehicles. In close quarters, they can fold into dual short blades for lethal precision.
Mounted on the left vambrace of each Guardian, these emit psionic force shields that repel kinetic, energy, and mental attacks. They can link together to form phalanx-style energy walls, making Guardian squads nearly immovable.
Forged in sacred workshops, the armor is plated with impact-absorbing alloys and lined with sun-forged gold, which disrupts hostile scanning tech. Engraved with sigils of oaths, it marks the rank and lineage of each warrior.
The Legion Elites
“What we seek, we conquer.”
The Legion Elites were created during Tataria’s darkest age—when the outer colonies rebelled and the Autarch’s rule wavered. In secret, the throne gave birth to a new breed of war. Not to protect. Not to infiltrate. But to punish.
They are deployed only when obliteration is the objective. When diplomacy fails. When whole civilizations must be broken.
Their methods are unrestrained: scorched earth, psychological warfare, planetary sieges, mass decimation. To face them is not to survive, but to beg for surrender that will never come.
They are violence incarnate, and they enjoy it.
The Legion Elites wield Dread-Tech, weapons designed not only to kill, but to maim, burn, and break morale.
Shoulder-mounted plasma mortars that fire unstable anti-matter rounds, capable of turning bunkers and tanks into vaporized craters. The impact screams—a sonic aftershock designed to unsettle enemy troops within a 3 km radius.
Dual wrist-mounted, serrated mono-edged blades that rotate on impact. Once they pierce armor, the inner motors tear through organs and bone. Meant not to kill fast—but to horrify.
Forged from the melted alloys of fallen enemy mechs, Hellskin is self-repairing, immune to corrosive and heat-based attacks, and can absorb kinetic energy to fuel counter-strike pulses.
Each operative carries a controlled neuro-toxin implant that, when activated, sends them into a berserker state—tripling strength, endurance, and pain tolerance. It kills most soldiers in days. Legion Elites survive on it for weeks.
At the head of the Vanguard stands Major Vexok, a hardened tactician with a reputation for never losing a single battle. Known for his quiet intensity and battlefield clairvoyance, Vexok was once a rogue war orphan who was taken in by the Tatarian military after single-handedly surviving an off-world ambush.
Vexok’s strategies are a blend of psychological warfare, precision strikes, and surgical sabotage. He believes in crippling an enemy’s spirit before crushing their body. Vexok’s mere appearance on the frontlines is enough to send opposing generals into retreat.
“The first strike must be the last they remember.”
– Major Vexok, Vanguard Commander
